Aubusson Tapestry : The Great Lady Collection
YMER&MALTA / Sylvain Rieu-Piquet
« (…) A mossy yet mineral carpet; water gushing from a rocky crevice or from compacted ice down the green slopes, announcing the arrival of summer.»
Bruno Ythier – Chief Curator at the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie d’Aubusson
The weave on this rug combines small and bigger stitches with false chain weave and classical weave, that makes for a blend of textures that give the impression of moving water and its reflections in mountainous surroundings.
A simple wood and ceramic bisque stool completes the piece like a stone resting on the water, creating its own little world.
